The Role Are you an experienced Press Operator ready to step into a leadership role? We are seeking a Lead Press Operator to spearhead our day-shift press production line. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will be the go-to expert for setting up, operating, and maintaining our printing presses during our 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM shift.

This isn't just an operational role—it’s an opportunity to lead. You will mentor junior operators, troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensure flawless quality control, and champion a culture of safety on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead & Execute: Set up and operate hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical printing presses, adjusting settings (speed, ink levels) for optimal performance.

• Quality Assurance: Monitor press runs, inspect materials, and catch defects early to ensure consistently high-quality output.

• Team Mentorship: Guide, train, and support junior press operators to help the team meet production goals and deadlines.

• Troubleshoot & Maintain: Handle minor mechanical and printing issues, performing routine maintenance and coordinating with the maintenance team for major repairs.

• Safety First: Oversee safe equipment operation and ensure all personnel strictly adhere to safety protocols.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Proven experience as a press operator in a manufacturing or packaging environment.

• Technical Skill: strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of press operation principles and routine maintenance.

• Leadership: Natural ability to mentor, communicate effectively, and motivate a team.

• Detail-Oriented: Ability to interpret technical drawings and work instructions with a sharp eye for quality.

• Physical Stamina: Comfort working a 12-hour day shift, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects as required.

Responsibilities

• Press Setup & Operation: Load inks, rolls, and raw materials. Expertly adjust press settings (speed, ink levels) to match precise job specifications and maintain optimal performance.

• Quality Control: Continuously monitor press runs and inspect finished materials to identify, troubleshoot, and correct defects or inconsistencies.

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and assist junior press operators. Coordinate with production staff to meet tight deadlines and strict output goals.

• Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic troubleshooting for minor mechanical and printing issues. Report complex malfunctions to the maintenance team and ensure routine upkeep.

• Post-Production Oversight: Supervise the stacking, sorting, and packaging of finished printed products to ensure they meet company quality standards.

• Safety & Compliance: Enforce safe equipment operation and ensure all personnel strictly adhere to safety protocols, maintaining an injury-free work environment.

• Documentation & Communication: Maintain precise records of production runs, material usage, and issues. Communicate job statuses and operational concerns clearly to the Plant Manager.
