Job Details Job Location: Ashland Office - Ashland, VA 23005 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $21.00 - $23.00 Job Shift: Day Accounts Receivable Specialist Position Summary The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing customer accounts by monitoring outstanding balances, collecting current and past-due payments, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to build positive relationships while ensuring timely payment of accounts. Essential Responsibilities Monitor customer accounts and identify current and past-due balances. Contact customers by phone, email, or other communication methods to collect outstanding payments. Respond promptly and professionally to customer questions regarding account balances, invoices, and payment status. Verify and update customer account and contact information as needed. Process customer payments, including credit card transactions, accurately and securely. Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and supporting documentation. Work collaboratively with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies and customer account issues. Protect confidential customer and company information in accordance with company policies. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by following company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required. Experience Previous accounts receivable and collections experience required. Experience with customer account management and payment processing preferred. Knowledge/Skills Demonstrates a high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer software. Excellent verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Professional and courteous when interacting with customers, vendors, and coworkers. Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and continuously improve. Reliable, dependable, and responsive in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Positive attitude and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
