National Audubon Society

About Audubon

Through a collaborative, bipartisan approach across habitats, borders, and the political spectrum, Audubon drives meaningful and lasting conservation outcomes. With 800 staff and over 1.9 million supporters, Audubon is a dynamic and ever-growing force committed to ensuring a better planet for both birds and people for generations to come. Position Summary

The Youth Programs Manager will play a lead role in the development and execution of events and programs known for high-quality environmental education, including mentoring opportunities that connect high school students to a diverse range of environmental professionals, highlight green career paths, lead them to conservation advocacy and action, and nurture their relationship with birds and the natural world. The position will be responsible for the development of innovative programs that support and align the Center’s educational programs with Audubon’s Washington and network-wide strategies and initiatives. The Youth Programs Manager will work closely with the Center Director and Public Programs Manager on Elevation, the Center’s flagship Youth Leadership Development program. The position will co-create multigenerational programming, ways to transition from youth programs to lifelong engagement, and focus Center programming on efforts that feed into an organizationally accepted web of engagement and scaffold that defines how individuals move from one stage to the next.

This position is on-site based at the Seward Park Audubon Center in Seattle, WA. The Seward Park Audubon Center sits within 277 acres of old-growth forest with 2.5 miles of shoreline in South Seattle, in one of the most linguistically and culturally diverse areas in the United States. The Center serves students, families, and teens from South Seattle schools and community organizations, with programming developed to connect people with the natural world and offer opportunities to take action to protect it.

Compensation:
$36.00 – $41.00 / hour
