Dairy Clerk

This position is located in the Grocery department and reports to the Dairy Manager. The FLSA status is Non-Exempt. The job summary involves maintaining pricing, stocking, and rotation of merchandise in the dairy department.

Essential job functions include:

• Assisting in unloading merchandise.
• Transporting stock for storage to stock areas.
• Opening cartons and pricing items accurately.
• Keeping store shelves fully stocked according to tag allocations.
• Assisting in building store displays.
• Keeping perishable merchandise rotated and pulling out-of-code product as needed.
• Controlling the level of damaged goods.
• Properly presenting assigned section prior to leaving at the end of scheduled work shift.
• Observing policies and procedures established for each department.
• Greeting customers who come into the store and being observant.
• Maintaining a neat appearance according to the company's dress code policy.
• Abiding by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.

Supplemental job functions include:

• Maintenance of price and protection program.
• Housekeeping of sales and back room areas.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required include:

• Ability to read and write to properly tag merchandise, maintain proper inventory level and ensure rotation of product.
• Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise in specific areas.
• Ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds at least forty percent (40%) of the time.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
