As a Security Officer - Full Time - Afternoons in Cedar Rapids, IA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and remain visible to help deter incidents. Pay Rate: $18.75 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and personnel by following site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Verify identification, review delivery appointments and/or visitor authorization, issue appropriate access credentials, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Monitor entry and exit points, vehicle traffic, and restricted areas to help deter unauthorized access and support orderly operations.
• Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking facilities, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
