Talent Acquisition Partner – Agency Recruitment New York City | Rockefeller Center Oliver James is a global specialist recruitment business operating across 15 international offices, with a market-leading presence across Insurance, Asset Management and Banking. Our US business is entering its next major phase of growth. Since 2020, we’ve increased revenue by more than 350% and grown from 35 to 160+ employees across North America. With plans to double the business again over the next two years, we’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Partner to help us find and hire the experienced recruiters who will drive that growth. This is a highly commercial TA role, partnering directly with senior leadership and using many of the same skills that make a great agency recruiter successful: headhunting, influence, objection handling, commercial curiosity, resilience and the ability to create opportunity with passive talent. You’ll identify and engage high-performing recruiters, position Oliver James as a compelling career move and convert conversations into high-quality hires. You’ll have a strong proposition to take to market: bigger markets, higher-value desks, clear progression, strong infrastructure and a business with genuine momentum. Your job is to bring that opportunity to life. The Opportunity Working within our established Talent team, you’ll own experienced hiring across key areas of Oliver James USA. You’ll partner closely with Directors and senior leaders on market mapping, hiring strategy and talent pipelines, while proactively headhunting recruiters across our specialist markets. This role suits someone who understands agency recruitment, enjoys the sales element of Talent Acquisition and is motivated by winning high-quality talent in a competitive market. Key Responsibilities Headhunt and engage experienced recruiters across our specialist markets Build proactive talent pipelines aligned to future growth Sell the Oliver James opportunity to passive candidates Manage candidates through the full recruitment lifecycle Conduct first-stage interviews and candidate assessments Partner with senior leadership on hiring strategy and market insight Assess motivation, commercial capability and agency recruitment alignment Drive referral and talent attraction initiatives Partner with Talent and Marketing on recruitment campaigns Track pipeline activity, hiring performance and recruitment data Support onboarding and post-placement aftercare What We’re Looking For Agency recruitment experience is essential. Ideally, you’ll already work in Talent Acquisition for a recruitment agency, hiring experienced recruiters into an agency environment. We’ll also consider successful 360 agency recruiters looking to move into internal TA who bring strong sales capability, market knowledge and the ability to influence passive candidates. You’ll need a minimum of two years’ agency recruitment experience and a strong understanding of recruiter motivations, desk performance, market opportunity, progression and earning potential. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, commercially driven and relentless in finding the best talent in the market. You’ll bring: 2+ years’ agency recruitment experience Recruitment agency TA experience or a strong 360 recruitment track record Excellent headhunting and passive candidate engagement skills Strong commercial judgement and influencing capability Confidence handling objections and selling career opportunities Resilience, pace and comfort working to hiring targets Strong relationship-building and communication skills High levels of organization and attention to detail Why Oliver James?
