Workday Integrations Specialist

Job Description General Motors is on the lookout for an experienced Workday Integrations Specialist to architect, implement, and manage innovative integration solutions within our Workday platform. This position is essential for facilitating smooth data interchange and operational efficiency across various HR and business systems. What You'll Do Design, configure, and test Workday integrations using a range of Workday integration tools (EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Studio). Collaborate with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to gather integration requirements and convert them into actionable technical specifications. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all integration processes, setups, and troubleshooting procedures. Conduct root cause analysis and resolve integration issues, ensuring data integrity and system performance. Engage in the complete software development life cycle, encompassing design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of Workday integrations. Keep abreast of Workday updates and new features, evaluating their effects on current integrations and suggesting necessary modifications. Utilize exceptional problem‑solving skills to address complex integration challenges and enhance integration efficiency. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) 5+ years of experience in HR Technology (SAP, PeopleSoft, Workday). 3 to 5 years of recent, hands‑on experience building and troubleshooting Workday Integrations, including EIB, Connectors (PECI, WECI, CCW, etc.), Workday Studio, and developing custom reports and calculated fields. Proven experience with Computer Program Design Techniques to create scalable and sustainable integration solutions. Integration expertise in Human Resources domains (Onboarding/Offboarding, Payroll, Benefits, Timekeeping, etc.). Skilled in creating detailed system interface specifications, field mapping, and system process designs. Strong knowledge of Cloud Computing, Web Services (SOAP & RESTful) and various integration patterns. Proven capability to determine IT system requirements and effectively translate business needs into technical specifications for Workday integrations. Hands‑on experience with Product Configurators within the Workday platform (e.g., integration templates, business process configurations). Familiarity with Web Programming Languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python) for advanced integration scenarios and API interactions is a plus. Solid understanding of Workday's data model and security framework. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) Hands‑on experience with Workday Extend. Workday Pro Certification (Integrations) is highly desirable. Experience with the Java programming language. This role will require attending the workplace at least three times a week.
