Assistant Server - Mozen

The Assistant Server – Mozen is responsible for supporting the front-of-house team by bussing tables, serving drinks, resetting stations, and assisting Servers with food and beverage service. This position plays a key role in delivering timely, courteous, and knowledgeable guest service while ensuring a clean and well-organized dining area. The Assistant Server helps uphold AAA Four Diamond service standards and contributes to an exceptional dining experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greets and assists guests promptly with a warm, professional demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression and attentive service throughout their dining experience. Supports Servers by taking and delivering food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently to provide seamless guest service. Serves water, beverages, and food items promptly, ensuring proper presentation and guest satisfaction. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation standards, to answer guest questions confidently. Busses, cleans, and resets tables quickly and thoroughly between guests to maintain continuous guest flow and a clean, organized dining environment. Monitors the dining area throughout service to uphold cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards at all times. Restocks and maintains service stations and work areas — including utensils, glassware, condiments, and other supplies — to ensure readiness and efficiency throughout the shift. Adheres to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines during service, cleaning, and closing procedures. Communicates effectively with guests, team members, and kitchen staff to ensure coordinated, timely, and professional service. Ensures all work is performed with a high level of professionalism, urgency, and guest focus. Verifies guest identification to ensure compliance with alcohol service laws and adheres to all ABC regulations, RBS training standards, and internal policies. Performs additional side work and other job-related duties as assigned to support overall operations and service excellence.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. High regard for guest service and a professional appearance. Ability to follow instructions and anticipate service needs. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional coursework in hospitality or food and beverage service is a plus. Food Handler Certification required or must be obtained upon hire. Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a food service support role such as assistant server, busser, or food runner. Familiarity with fine dining or upscale service standards and guest interaction etiquette. Ability to assist servers with table maintenance, order delivery, and guest requests in a timely manner. Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills. Able to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining cleanliness and professionalism. Prior experience in a casino, resort, or fine dining establishment is preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

Mobility: Continuously moves throughout the dining room, kitchen, and service areas; requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching for extended periods during meal service. Stationary Work: Rarely remains seated; duties are actively performed while circulating through the restaurant to support the service team. Tool Operation: Occasional use of tray stands, beverage dispensers, and basic service tools; may also operate POS or order support systems under supervision. Visual Acuity: Requires near and far vision to assist in delivering the correct orders, identify table assignments, monitor guest needs, and maintain presentation standards. Working Conditions: Routinely works in a fine dining and kitchen environment with exposure to moderate noise levels, varying lighting, and guest interaction. Regular exposure to a smoking environment while transitioning through casino or public areas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.

WORKING HOURS:

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
