Job Details Key Responsibilities: Lead the organization's day-to-day finance and accounting operations. Oversee general ledger activity, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, and financial reporting. Manage and ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for executive leadership and other stakeholders. Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and nonprofit requirements. Develop, implement, and continuously improve accounting processes, policies, and procedures. Evaluate and improve accounting systems, infrastructure, and financial workflows. Lead, mentor, coach, and develop members of the finance and accounting team. Partner with executive leadership and operational teams to provide meaningful financial insight and support decision-making. Explain complex financial information in a clear and accessible manner to non-financial stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, controls, and financial reporting. Manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced and evolving organization. Support organizational goals through sound financial leadership, analysis, and best practices. Maintain the highest standards of ethics, confidentiality, accuracy, and financial integrity. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Significant experience in nonprofit accounting and finance. Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements. Proven experience managing month-end and year-end close processes. Experience managing and developing finance/accounting teams. Strong understanding of accounting and financial management systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate complex financial information for non‑financial audiences. Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. High degree of integrity and ethical judgment. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, complex, and rapidly changing environment. Strong hands‑on approach with the ability to balance strategic leadership with tactical execution. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
