Controller

Our client is a growing organization seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting function and help build the infrastructure needed to support continued growth.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will oversee the accounting team, strengthen financial processes and controls, and serve as a collaborative business partner across the organization.


This is an opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys improving processes, developing people, and helping a growing organization scale.

The organization has experienced significant growth in recent years and is pursuing an active growth and acquisition strategy. The incoming Controller will play an important role in preparing the finance function to support that expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, with an emphasis on improving efficiency and accuracy
• Partner with the CFO to continue streamlining the close process and strengthen financial reporting
• Document accounting processes, policies, and internal controls as a key initial priority
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and financial processes
• Partner cross-functionally with HR and other departments on financial and operational matters
• Support the onboarding and integration of acquisitions, including accounting processes and systems
• Assist with offboarding activities and related financial and administrative processes
• Provide leadership and institutional support alongside a highly experienced member of the accounting team
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial information
• Help develop scalable accounting infrastructure to support continued organizational growth
• Serve as a trusted thought partner to the CFO and broader leadership team

What We Are Looking For:

The ideal candidate is a collaborative, solutions-oriented accounting leader who brings strong technical fundamentals along with the ability to understand the broader business.

Successful candidates will bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally including Controller or Assistant Controller responsibilities
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop an accounting team
• Experience improving close processes, controls, and accounting procedures
• Strong understanding of financial operations and internal controls
• Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Experience working in a growing or changing organization
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to bring new ideas forward
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience with acquisitions, integrations, or other organizational growth initiatives is highly desirable

Systems

Experience with QuickBooks Online and Autotask is preferred, although strong candidates with comparable systems experience will be considered.
