Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized perioperative nursing care within the operating room, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes throughout all surgical phases. Collaborates with surgical team members to prepare, assist, and monitor patients during procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preoperative assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Assist in setting up the operating room by assembling equipment, supplies, and sterile packs.
• Prepare patients for surgery by positioning, prepping the operative site, and verifying procedure details.
• Support surgeons and team members during procedures, including instrument handling and maintaining sterile conditions.
• Conduct surgical counts and document nursing interventions and patient responses accurately.
• Assist in post-surgical cleanup and proper disposal of supplies and sharps, ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license.
• Possess at least one year of surgical or perioperative nursing experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of sterile techniques and operating room protocols.
• Ability to assess patient needs and collaborate effectively with surgical teams.
