Medical Director/Scientific Director, Psychiatry Pipeline, Medical Affairs and Health Impact

AbbVie seeks a Medical Director/Scientific Director for its psychiatry pipeline to provide strategic medical and scientific leadership across clinical development, regulatory, and commercial functions. The role involves developing asset strategies, generating clinical data, leading cross-functional teams, and advancing medical affairs initiatives globally.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic medical input and oversight for assigned psychiatric indications and projects
Lead development and execution of advisory boards, scientific education programs, and data generation initiatives
Develop asset strategy components including target product profiles and phase 3b/4 clinical programs
Manage discrete projects within therapeutic area including expert engagement and publications
Support clinical development teams with scientific input on trial design, endpoints, and target populations

Requirements

MD, PhD, PharmD, DVM, or non-US equivalent
5+ years biotech/pharmaceutical industry or academia experience; 8+ years pharmaceutical industry preferred
Neurology or psychiatry residency/fellowship completion preferred
Proven cross-functional global team leadership skills
Deep knowledge of clinical trial methodology and regulatory requirements
Expert knowledge in psychiatry therapeutic specialty including psychedelic landscape
Excellent oral and written English communication skills
