Seeking an experienced tax preparer that can lead and manage multiple tax engagements. Individuals will have the opportunity of working with a diverse group of large and family-owned businesses. Our firm works with a wide variety of industries. Tax preparers will work directly with individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts, non-profits, retirement returns and foreign reporting requirements.

In addition, QuickBooks Online and Desktop Intuit software experience is preferred. Pay will vary with experience.

** Duties: **
- Use all appropriate adjustments, deductions, and credits to keep clients' taxes to a minimum.
- Compute taxes owed or overpaid, using accounting tax software, and complete entries on forms, following tax form instructions and tax tables.
- Interview clients to obtain additional information on taxable income and deductible expenses and allowances.
- Review financial records, such as income statements and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.
- Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals or small businesses.
- Check data input or verify totals on forms prepared by others to detect errors in arithmetic, data entry, or procedures.
- Furnish taxpayers with sufficient information and advice to ensure correct tax form completion.
- Consult tax law handbooks or bulletins to determine procedures for preparation of atypical returns.
- Explain federal and state tax laws to individuals and companies.

** Qualifications: **
- 3+ years prior experience in public accounting.

- Preparation of individual and/or business tax returns.

- Degree in accounting is preferable but will substitute experience for education.
- QuickBooks Online and Desktop software experience preferred.
- QuickBooks Online certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent writing, communication, and tax research skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organization is a must.
- Ability to work with efficiency and accuracy under tight deadline.
- Must be an independent worker with exceptional attention to detail who can work with a team.
