ABOUT THIS POSITION

Summary:

olorado Mesa University invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor for the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program with practice mastery in physical rehabilitation. This is a full-time tenure-track or clinical-track, 12-month position with a start date of January 6, 2027.

The standard academic load is 18-20 credit hours per year primarily on site; courses may be assigned as in-person or hybrid. Participation in scholarship, advising, and service to the program, department, and profession are expected.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

• Teach graduate-level courses within the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program.
• Develop and coordinate course design, course delivery, and participate in the evaluation of didactic and clinical curriculum.
• Advise and mentor graduate students, including guiding faculty-led research projects
• Initiate an ongoing scholarly agenda in area of expertise.
• Ongoing development and evaluation of curriculum to align with program goals and accreditation standards.
• Support admissions and applicant screening processes
• Complete professional development activities and service to the Department, University and community.
• Participate in ACOTE accreditation, and program/University assessment processes.
• Perform other program and department level duties as assigned.

Salary:

$95,000-$100,000

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications Required:

EITHER

A) Occupational therapist with the following: Master's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program AND currently pursuing a Doctoral degree, or entry-level Doctoral degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Must have certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the State of Colorado. Minimum of two years of clinical experience in occupational therapy.

OR

B) Post-professional OTD/DOT degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Must have certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the State of Colorado. Minimum of two years of clinical experience in occupational therapy.

All candidates should possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Clinical experience in adult physical rehabilitation.
• Previous academic teaching experience.
• Clinical teaching experience as a Level II Fieldwork educator.
• Evidence of scholarship (presentations, articles, posters, etc.).
• Active in community service and participation
• Leadership in local, regional, or national occupational therapy associations
• An earned terminal doctoral degree in an appropriate discipline (PhD, EdD).
