Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year in Emergency Room nursing License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required Description: Position available for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse. Candidate must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in an emergency department. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 with mixed/shared acuity levels. Candidates should be open to floating when census warrants. Minimal RTO (requests for time off) is acceptable. Every other weekend is required. Nurses must demonstrate competency in phlebotomy and IV placement. Responsibilities include the management of dysrhythmias, central line care, blood product administration, and IV medication administration. Experience with interpreting dysrhythmias and managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction is essential. Candidates should be familiar with Epic charting. Daily census is approximately 64 patients with 145 visits per day. The unit cares for a diverse patient age group, including neonates, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support teams are available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Candidates must be willing to float as required. Charting experience with Epic is a hard requirement.
