Aerotek is HIRING NOW for Quality Assurance Inspector – Calibration / CMM (Machine Shop)

Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (4-day work week)

Pay: Up to $23/hour (based on experience)

Overview

A growing manufacturing facility is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector with calibration experience to support machine shop operations and maintain compliance with quality standards. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in precision measurement, calibration, and CMM operation who is comfortable working both on the production floor and within a structured quality system.

This is an immediate opening , and the team is looking for someone who can step in and contribute quickly.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections of machined and fabricated parts
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, torque tools, and gauge blocks
• Operate CMM equipment (Zeiss preferred) using Calypso software
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T to verify part compliance
• Conduct calibration of measuring and test equipment in accordance with established standards
• Maintain calibration records and documentation for audit readiness
• Inspect tools and equipment for accuracy and functionality; coordinate repairs when needed
• Support quality documentation, procedures, and work instructions
• Assist with internal audits and compliance activities
• Contribute to First Article Inspections (FAI) and quality reporting
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues

Qualifications

• 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
• Experience with calibration processes and measuring equipment
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Experience working within an ISO-regulated quality system (ISO 9001 required)
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word)

Preferred Experience

• Experience operating Zeiss CMM equipment and Calypso software
• Familiarity with calibration software (GageTrak or similar)
• Experience in aerospace (AS9100) or automotive (IATF/TS16949) environments
• Experience with welding inspection
• Internal auditing experience or certification
• Experience with First Article Inspection reports

Work Environment

• Combination of shop floor and office setting
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active throughout the shift
• Fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on quality and accuracy

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Merritt Island, FL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
