Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | 12-Hour Day Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 32-bed Neuro ICU setting, with a primary focus on general ICU patients including post-stroke, sepsis, DKA, post-code, and respiratory distress cases
• Perform NIHSS assessments and dysphagia screenings; manage neuro-specific patients including those with drains, biopsies, and ventriculostomy devices as acuity and unit needs require
• Initiate and titrate sedatives, paralytics, cardiac drips, and vasoactive medications; manage ETT/ventilator patients in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs; candidates will be required to pass a telemetry competency test
• Apply sepsis protocols and provide care across a broad critical care patient population
• Float within skillset to a sister campus location with a minimum of 2 hours notice; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible

Required Qualifications

• Current, active Compact RN License
• AHA BLS , AHA ACLS , and NIHSS certification required — must be attached at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least 1 full year in an ICU setting
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)
• Strong neuro assessment, critical thinking, and telemetry/12-lead EKG interpretation skills required
• Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with CRRT
• tPA administration and post-tPA assessments
• Massive transfusion protocol experience (Belmont device)
• Adaptable, resilient, and collaborative with strong interpersonal skills
