Prep Cook - $500 sign-on bonus

Schedule: Monday - Thursday // 6:30am - 2:30pm Sifted is building out a brand new, dynamic corporate catering space in Redwood City, and needs a highly motivated Prep Cook / Server to help launch this year. This hybrid role is expected to fill in on one or multiple positions daily and reports to the Lead Host or Lead Line Cook on the Breakfast, Hot Hands, Wrap Culture or Rotating Plate concepts. The PT Prep Cook/Server position will be expected to be comfortable working in one or multiple stations as needed and remain flexible as needs may change daily, pivoting as directed by their Lead, Executive Chef or Account Manager. They should be comfortable working in the kitchen as well as engaging with guests daily. This Monday‑Friday role is perfect for a Prep Cook or Line Cook with one to two years experience looking for an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing company that values passion for cooking, teamwork and hospitality. What you'll be doing Work on one or multiple stations daily, following directions from the Lead Host or Lead Line Cook. Ensure proper labeling, organization of pans and delis, and discard out‑of‑date product from common storage areas. Execute strict quality control and assurance, acting as a Sanitation and Safety Champion in the kitchen. Assist with daily deep‑clean items, complying with and enforcing sanitary regulations and safety standards. Assist the Executive Chef in facilitating discussions and answering questions about production, packout, and clean‑up. Assist the Executive Chef with the development and augmentation of existing systems. Qualifications 1-2 years of experience in a full‑service, moderate to high‑volume restaurant, club or catering establishment. Comfortable interacting with guests, potentially serving and answering questions, identifying potential allergies upon request. Ability to perform repetitive motions daily in regard to prep, serving guests, and cleaning. Lead by example in all aspects of the business – production, attitude, cleaning, punctuality. Lead by example in regards to safety and sanitation standards set by the local Health Department. Work efficiently to maximize team output and minimize overall labor hours. Maintain a calm and collected demeanor in a fast‑paced environment. Understand and communicate in written and spoken English. Must maintain a Washington State Food Handlers Card. Eligibility Must maintain a Washington State Food Handlers Card. Work Environment This position is based in a commercial kitchen. Physical Requirements Standing for up to 6 hours at a time and moving equipment up to 50 lbs. Benefits Compensation: $25 per hour. Sign‑on bonuses received on the first scheduled pay period after 90 days of employment and successful completion of the probationary period.
