Headquartered in Austin, TX, DFS has a significant technology development and manufacturing presence worldwide, including facilities in Brazil, China, India, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.Job DutiesRead and follow Job Ticket instructionsPrepare artwork and create print ready files for digital printingTroubleshoot files for potential issuesPerform basic preventive maintenance (TPM) in the machinePromote Zone Safety Hazard avoidance according to training provided, PPE usage.Execute and engage other peers in housekeeping responsibilities (6S experience) that are consistent with manufacturing initiativesDrives Quality and Continuous Improvement initiatives as they relate to the tasks in their respective zoneHave a machine ownership mindset in order to ensure the productivity is aligned with the expectation. Drive communication with the maintenance team and direct operations manager if something needs to be addressed.Demonstrated ability to grasp and execute process-related activitiesCommunicate any problems discovered in preflight processMaintain high level of quality, accuracy and productivityImpose files for digital pressesSend imposed files to printer and check for accuracyFully engaged in the Employee Suggestions Program driving not only suggestions in the respective zone but also engage other team members to provide suggestions as well.Fully understand and engaged in the Zone Metrics Indicators to drive continuous improvement / problem solving in the zone; actively identifies detractors and records them on the Tier Production Boards.Job RequirementsHigh School or equivalent (preferred)At least 2 year of experience in Prepress operationsProficient with Adobe Creative Suites (Illustrator and Acrobat)Knowledge of and ability to check file specifications (color separations, fonts, links, document size, etc.)Familiarity with prepress workflowAbility to understand and read working instructionsKnowledge of printing functions helpfulAbility to read graphics specificationsHave experience using Lean Tools (A3, 5Why, Fishbone diagram, etc.) is preferableHave experience in managing the 7 Elements of Waste is preferableAbility and willingness to stand for a minimum of 10 hours per day, and lift up to 40lbs unassisted as requiredAdvanced PC skills and ability to navigate programs used by the Company for training and/or communication purposesAbility to follow both verbal and written instructions in EnglishAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environmentHigh level of accuracy; keen attention to detailA personality style that is inclusive, communicative and respects othersRecognized by peers as a contributor to achieving the daily TaskCustomer focused, both internal and externalWorking ScheduleDay shifts - Monday - Thursday.
