Job Description:
The Mega 5 Litigation Support Team at Leidos, currently supporting the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has a
competitive opening for a Law Clerk I to assist the Federal Program's Branch program.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or a Project Supervisor.
• Performs simple to moderately complex legal research for the trial staff.
• Assists in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, discovery requests,
responses, memoranda of law, etc. reviewing documents for relevance and privilege.
• Assists attorneys with all phases of litigation.
• Prepares Table of Contents and Table of Authorities
• Performs Cite checking using Bluebook.
• Ability to conduct research in applicable statutory, regulatory, and case law.
• Demonstrated ability to discern the relevant issues in complex fact patterns.
Basic Qualifications:
• Requires Law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at
least one (1) year of study or, six (6) years of legal training or experience may be substituted.
• Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research
procedures, and legal research resources.
• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal
research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
• Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word
processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets,
and imaging.

• Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures
and resources.
• Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very
important.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience doing document review, particularly privilege review and second level
responsiveness checks.
• Experience drafting discovery requests, responses, and correspondence.
• Knowledge of and experience with Bluebook citations is strongly preferred.
• Preparation of Table of Contents and Table of Authorities and Cite checking
• Familiarity with the Microsoft suite, including Excel and Word, as well as Adobe Acrobat is
essential.
• Experience with Relativity, valued.
• Strong analytic, organizational, and writing skills are preferred.
• Trial experience helpful.
• Active Public Trust Clearance preferred.
Furnished Equipment:
DOJ will provide customer equipment and cloud or virtual machine access to government applications required
to successfully perform the tasks assigned for the Federal Program's Branch program. Return of equipment and
all property of the Federal Government and Leidos is required at the conclusion of the work.
Location: The work is performed in Washington DC at 1100 L Street, NW.
Workdays and Work Hours:
Working hours will be 8 hours a day, between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM local time depending on the
client's business needs with it being a set schedule per day/week. Work schedule is expected to be the same as
the supported office personnel. If overtime is needed, overtime shall only be performed with the prior approval
of DOJ COR, Leidos Management, and in accordance with subcontractor procedures. Normal business hours are
generally 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST with 12 hour unpaid lunch.
Assignment is expected to be in office, unless otherwise stated. It is at the client's discretion if a hybrid schedule
is permitted with authorization from DOJ COR and Leidos Management. One should expect to be in the office
FIVE (5) days a week.
Period of Performance:
The period of performance ("POP") for this SOW is identified in the table below. Buyer may exercise the options
below to extend the period of performance by giving written notice to Seller before the end of the then current
period of performance. Seller is not obligated to provide services, and Buyer is not obligated to compensate Seller,
for work performed or expenses incurred before or after these dates
