Description The Litigation Support Team at Leidos supporting the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in Washington, DC is seeking a Law Clerk to perform litigation support duties. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the DOJ’s mission. Typical assignments may include the following but are not limited to: Works under the direction of a Project Supervisor or Project Manager. Performs complex legal research for the trial staff. Assists in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc. Assists in drafting Program decisions, which in many claims set the foundation for subsequent administrative and judicial review. Reviews documents for relevance and privilege. Conducts research in applicable statutory, regulatory, and case law. Discerns the relevant issues in complex fact patterns. Assists attorneys with all phases of litigation. Basic Qualifications Requires a Law degree, or current attendance in an ABA‑accredited law school with at least one year of study, or an equivalent level of legal training or experience. Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw. Hands‑on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging. Hands‑on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent analytical skills. Ability to consistently deliver high‑quality work under extreme pressure. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a Government and/or Litigation Support environment. Experience with Relativity, referenced within the resume if applicable. Trial experience. Interest or experience in informal adjudications under an agency’s enabling act and regulations. Experience handling a large volume of cases or claims. Current or active clearance. Pay Range The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, market data alignment, applicable bargaining agreement, or other applicable law.
