LCMS Application Specialist

Job Summary Oversee and maintain the Chemistry department workflow and ensure the department follows safety and quality assurance procedures. This includes reagent supply usage, maintenance flow, instrument training and training documents. Job Responsibilities Essential Functions Support PathGroup’s mission, vision, goals, and management Provide scientific oversight of timely selection, development and validation of assays in LC/MS-MS area. Assists in strategic development of the laboratory services Ensure compliance with laboratory regulatory Support all processes involved with Quality Management which include solving problems, developing procedures, and trending and reporting data. Implement and maintain effective departmental Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement programs and monitors. Organize QC lot changes tracking expirations and shipment process per CAP Reviewing reports from laboratory equipment to ensure everything is operating in an efficient manner. Maintain calibration programs for testing equipment that affect quality Responsible for the continuity between all areas of the department that includes departmental procedures, validations, and maintaining inspection readiness. Ensure effective employee relations by sustaining an ethical, non-discriminatory and safe work environment and establishing effective communication lines and methods. Assist in establishing and executing departmental long and short-term Become familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including the Privacy and Security policies Follow guidelines and SOPs for reviewing and releasing Support training programs by writing SOP’s and working with Medical Technologist to ensure everyone is knowledgeable on instrumentation and work flow. Review and monitoring of LCMS consumables and comparative inventory. Other duties as Education & Licensure Bachelor’s degree in science Master’s Degree National certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as applicable, or as a Medical Technologist (MT) preferred. Maintains appropriate continuing education and to increase basic Experience Must have proven track record in physician, employee and client relationships and operational performances. Public Safety and Security Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. Personnel and Human Resources Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
