The PACS Technologist plays a vital role in supporting diagnostic imaging operations by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient imaging records and digital image management systems. The PACS Technologist works closely with radiology leadership, technologists, and support teams to maintain efficient image workflow and data reconciliation processes.

UT MD Anderson's Diagnostic Imaging team at our Northwest Houston location supports high-quality patient care through advanced imaging technologies and collaborative clinical operations. Within this environment, the PACS Technologist serves as a key resource for imaging informatics, reconciliation activities, and system support while contributing to a culture of learning, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has completed an approved radiologic technology program and brings extensive clinical radiology experience, along with a strong understanding of imaging informatics and radiology information systems. Candidates with prior Radiology Information System or Informatics experience, active ARRT registration, and current BLS or CPR certification are particularly well suited for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Support PACS, EPIC, Billing Tool, Powerscribe, and Coderyte applications

• Perform daily reconciliation of all radiology systems

• Reconcile diagnostic exams and associated patient records within the Picture Archiving and Communication System

• Ensure proper digital image data transfer into PACS through collaboration with radiology managers, supervisors, and technologists

• Serve as an expert user of the PACS Change Request Form (PCRF) webpage and associated programs

• Collaborate with PACS support team members to identify current and future process development needs

• Participate in assigned on-call responsibilities

• Complete additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent and
• Graduation from an approved education program in radiologic technology.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Required: 5 years Clinical radiology technology experience. or
• Required: 3 years Clinical radiologic technology experience at MDACC.
• Preferred: 2 years Radiology information system or Informatics experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Required: ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). and
• Required: BLS - Basic Life Support or
• Required: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
