This is an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager who enjoys leading people, improving processes, and taking ownership of financial operations. You'll work closely with executive leadership, mentor a developing accounting team, and play an integral role in shaping the department's future.

What You'll Be Doing

• Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor accounting professionals while establishing clear expectations, accountability, and efficient workflows.
• Month-End Close: Own the monthly and annual close process, ensuring accurate reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Construction Accounting: Oversee job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Payroll Oversight: Manage payroll processes, including certified payroll, prevailing wage, and union reporting.
• Accounting Operations: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledger activities.
• Process Improvement: Strengthen internal controls, streamline accounting procedures, and improve operational efficiencies.
• Technology & Systems: Support an exciting ERP implementation, helping modernize financial systems and reporting capabilities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with project managers and executive leadership to ensure accurate project financials and support strategic decisions.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing, coaching, and developing an accounting team.
• Strong understanding of month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Hands-on payroll processing experience.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Technology-savvy and comfortable learning new accounting systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in commercial construction or another project-based industry.
• Knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Experience with certified payroll, prevailing wage, or union reporting.
• Familiarity with Sage 300, Acumatica, or similar ERP systems.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations or accounting process improvements.
