Human Resources Specialist

Overview This position is located in Monmouth Junction, NJ and will require travel to Philadelphia, PA as needed. Summary Reporting directly to the Senior Human Resources Manager, the Human Resource Specialist will support multiple facilities by providing administrative support to the HR function, including record‑keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry. The role ensures compliance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and federal and state regulations. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with federal, state, anti‑discrimination, health & safety, and other relevant laws. Provide customer service by responding to employee and manager inquiries. Produce documents in support of litigation, arbitration, and unemployment hearings. Maintain electronic employee and investigation files. Conduct audits of HR programs and recommend corrective action. Maintain HRIS records and compile reports from the database. Handle location health and welfare inquiries and communications, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Act as the initial contact for all labor and employee relations matters and initiate investigations as directed. Contribute to process improvement. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Working knowledge of human resource principles, practices, and procedures. Excellent time‑management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Travel as needed throughout the Tri‑State Area. Education and Preferred Experience Bachelor's degree or at least 2+ years related field and/or equivalent experience. SHRM‑CP credential is a plus. Union Experience Union experience or fundamental knowledge of unions preferred.
