Quality Manager

Industry: Packaging & Printing Manufacturing Quality Manager We are partnering with a well-established packaging and printing manufacturer in the Rochester, NY area to recruit an experienced Quality Manager . This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with strong leadership experience who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about driving quality standards, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will lead the site's Quality function, ensuring products consistently meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards while developing a high-performing quality team. Key Responsibilities Lead, develop, and mentor the Quality team, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Manage all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with customer, industry, and company standards. Drive root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using structured problem-solving methodologies. Establish, monitor, and report on key quality metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Operations, and Customer Service to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes. Lead internal and external audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections. Manage customer complaints, non-conforming materials, and supplier quality issues through to resolution. Develop and maintain quality documentation, procedures, work instructions, and inspection standards. Support new product introductions by ensuring quality requirements are met throughout the launch process. Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and quality regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline preferred. Proven experience leading Quality teams within a packaging or printing manufacturing environment is essential. Strong background managing quality systems within a manufacturing facility. Experience with customer audits, supplier quality, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated success implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong understanding of root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and FMEA. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, and statistical analysis techniques. Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills. Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive change throughout the organization. Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality reporting systems. Preferred Experience Folding carton, flexible packaging, labels, corrugated, paperboard, or commercial printing experience. Experience working with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems. ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE), CQE, or Six Sigma certification is advantageous. #J-18808-Ljbffr Appleton Finn
