OVERVIEW: The Production Planning Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing production schedules to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role operates under the direction of the Production Manager to maintain schedule accuracy, ensure material availability, and facilitate effective cross-functional communication. Additionally, the Production Planning Coordinator provides floor-level leadership as needed to support daily operations, including during periods when the Production Manager is unavailable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules within AX12
- Sequence work orders in alignment with established priorities and operational guidelines
- Update production schedules to reflect real-time status changes and operational needs
- Monitor production progress against established schedules and targets
- Identify potential risks to schedule adherence and communicate issues proactively
- Escalate delays, constraints, and scheduling conflicts to the Production Manager
- Monitor material availability and proactively communicate any shortages or gaps
- Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure production readiness
- Support material staging to align with production schedules and requirements
- Communicate schedule updates and production status to cross-functional teams
- Facilitate coordination between production, customer experience, and warehouse teams
- Escalate priority conflicts or operational constraints as necessary
- Maintain accurate production and order data within AX12
- Assist in tracking and reporting key performance metrics, including schedule adherence and production output
- Support preparation and participation in weekly operations reviews
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility; however, it provides functional direction and guidance to production personnel to support effective schedule execution
- Assist in coordinating daily production floor activities in the absence of the Production Manager
- Promote and support adherence to established safety, quality, and production standards

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or supply chain environments preferred
- Experience in production scheduling, planning, or coordination
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, material flow, and production operations
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:

COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with experience using production tracking and reporting tools
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, with AX12 preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee may frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift. Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to regularly lift and or move up to 50 lbs., occasionally lift or move 75 pounds.
TRAVEL:
- No travel is required with this role
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position works in an environment with moderate noise levels.
