Chief Financial Officer

Gustavus Adolphus College seeks a Chief Financial Officer to serve as a strategic and operational leader during a period of institutional momentum and transformation.

Reporting directly to the President and serving as a key member of the senior leadership team, the CFO will guide the financial and administrative functions of the College, including finance, facilities, payroll, and auxiliary services. This leader will play a central role in aligning institutional resources with strategic priorities, ensuring long‑term financial sustainability while supporting the College’s ambitious vision for growth and innovation.

The CFO will have the opportunity to shape and modernize the College’s financial infrastructure at a pivotal time. As transitions across the finance function create space for evolution, the next leader will help strengthen teams, refine budget models, enhance forecasting capabilities, and build a more data‑informed approach to decision‑making.

The role calls for a strategic thinker and strong communicator who can balance operational discipline with mission alignment, serving as a collaborative partner to academic and administrative leaders across campus.

Salary range for this role is $195,000 – $240,000.
