Clinical Nurse Coordinator Cardiac Neuro ICU

Wesley Medical Center, part of the HCA Midwest Health system, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Cardiac Neuro ICU within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this leadership-focused bedside role, you will coordinate and deliver high-acuity nursing care for critically ill cardiac and neurologic patients while serving as a clinical resource and role model for staff on your shift. You will help guide daily patient assignments, support complex procedures, and collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and ancillary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care and optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities include overseeing and prioritizing patient care in a fast-paced ICU setting, providing direct hands-on nursing care, monitoring and interpreting invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic and neurologic assessments, titrating critical drips, managing ventilated patients, and ensuring rapid response to clinical changes. You will assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes, help resolve clinical and operational issues at the unit level, and support staff with clinical decision-making and escalation of care when needed. As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will play a key role in mentoring and developing ICU nurses, participating in staff education, onboarding and precepting, and fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement that reflects Wesley’s commitment to patient-centered care. You will contribute to quality initiatives, performance improvement projects, and compliance with regulatory standards, while helping to implement clinical protocols and best practices for cardiac and neuro-critical care.
