Scrub Tech - Cardiovascular/Thoracic Specialty

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

This position operates on a 4x10-hour day shift from 06:30 AM to 05:00 PM.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Scrub Tech specializing in Cardiovascular/Thoracic procedures. This role involves assisting with a variety of surgical interventions, including but not limited to CABG, AVR, AAA, MVR, and minimally invasive cardiac procedures. The candidate will be expected to float between like units and assist in both scheduled surgeries and emergency cases.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and execution of surgical procedures in the cardiovascular and thoracic specialties.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and ensure the sterilization of instruments and materials.
• Float to Main OR as required, adapting quickly to varying surgical teams and procedures.
• Participate in the training of new staff and oversee their orientation within the surgical unit.
• Respond to call shifts as designated, including at least one weekend per month and five weekday evenings.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of scrub tech experience in a surgical setting, preferably in cardiovascular or thoracic surgery.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS, CNOR, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is mandatory.
