Behavioral Health Technician

Behavioral Health Technician position in a pediatric psychiatric facility. The average daily census is approximately 30 patients. The staff-to-patient ratio is 1:4 during the day and 1:6 at night. Weekend rotation is required. Previous experience with inpatient pediatrics/adolescents is preferred. Skills in managing anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, and self-harming behaviors are essential. Experience with psychiatric conditions such as psychotic disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder is necessary. Candidates must have skills in obtaining vital signs and performing room/patient safety checks. Therapeutic communication skills are critical for this role. Ability to manage assaultive behavior and apply restraints as needed is required. Team consists of pediatricians, psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and nursing staff available 24/7. The environment supports a multidisciplinary approach to patient care for ages 3-18. Special requirements include a thorough understanding of behavior management and crisis intervention techniques.
