Senior Principal Cyber Engineer

Salary: $100,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree or at least four additional years of IT experience in lieu of a degree.
• We require 10+ years of cybersecurity experience focused on SIEM engineering, log observability, and/or log forwarding.
• We require proficiency using REGEX to filter or extract data.
• We require production experience operating and managing data pipelines with Cribl Stream or Cribl Edge.
• We require knowledge of log forwarding, indexing, data collection, search architecture, source types, and ingestion-time parsing.
• We require an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• You must have or be willing to obtain an IAT Level II or higher certification within 30 days of hire.
• You must have or be willing to obtain Cribl Engineer Certification (CC Engineer) within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Cribl architecture and best practices, with experience implementing them in enterprise environments.
• Preferred: Understanding of defense in depth, resilience, and integrated security operations.
• Preferred: Familiarity with federal cybersecurity guidance, including NIST SP 800-37 and NIST SP 800-137.
• Preferred: In-depth understanding and practical experience with Cribl, REGEX, and log forwarding.
• Preferred: Experience working in Agile environments.
• We require the ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time and occasionally move around the office to access equipment or communicate with coworkers, management, and customers, including through presentations.

• Engage with engineers, cross-functional teams, and customers at multiple levels to gather, coordinate, and deliver technical information.
• Partner with engineering teams to troubleshoot and build complex, highly available network topologies.
• Develop and manage data flow pipelines using complex extraction, transformation, and filtering to improve the user experience.
• Lead network troubleshooting and root cause analysis across enterprise, data center, cloud, and hybrid environments, using packet captures, routing analysis, traffic-flow inspection, and protocol diagnostics to resolve service-impacting issues.
• Provide engineering support and system administration for applications and systems, including installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, and backup and restoration.
• Deliver Tier 2/3 maintenance and engineering support for cybersecurity technologies.
• Support cybersecurity technology Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities, where applicable.
