Assembly Mechanic Full Time, Hourly position in Everett, WA, US. Salary Range: $22.00 to $28.00 per hour. Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:15am to 2:30pm. Position Purpose: This position assembles fabricated/machined parts and standards into partial or completed assemblies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Read and interpret written work orders and aerospace blueprints and drawings to determine parts requirements and sequence of assembly step. Clean or otherwise prepare part surfaces for assembly. Apply and clean excess adhesives, sealants, and other substances as required by work order, drawing, and/or blueprint instructions to piece parts for assembly. Sonic welds inserts and fasten parts together using nuts, bolts, screws, clips, rivets, or other fasteners. Use hammers, punches, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, rivet guns, and other hand tools to perform assembly operations. Install bushings and bearings and use hand tools to produce close fit between parts. Operate drill presses, presses, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operations. Use micrometers, force gauges, calipers, torque wrenches, dial indicators, and other precision measuring tools and equipment; read measuring tools and interpret readings in performing assembly operations. Handle parts, subassemblies, and assemblies with care to ensure finishes or special coatings are not damaged or blemished. Perform functional testing. Meet established standards for productivity and quality; confer with supervisor when problems occur which impact expected levels of performance. Support and ensure compliance with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems. Contribute to a positive work environment. Perform any task required to support customer requirements and company goals. Follow all Vaupell policies and standard operating procedures and safety practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical assembly or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly or a similar role in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of mechanical systems and assembly techniques. Experience with precision assembly and quality control processes preferred. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices. Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and inspection techniques. Basic understanding of electrical components and systems is a plus. Proficient in using hand and power tools relevant to mechanical assembly. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Adaptability to change priorities and willingness to learn new skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documentation, engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products with the use of hand‑held tools. Ability to perform basic math skills. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations.
