Data Entry Clerk

Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated and diligent Data Entry Clerk to join our team. The job holder will be responsible for maintaining our database by entering new and updated customer and account information. Our ideal candidate has essential data entry skills, like fast typing with an eye for detail and familiarity with spreadsheets and online forms. Previous experience as a data entry clerk or similar position will be considered an advantage.

• Prepare, compile and sort documents for data entry
• Check source documents for accuracy and verify data and correct data where necessary
• Obtain further information for incomplete documents
• Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files and forms
• Transcribe information into the required electronic format
• Scan documents into document management systems or databases
• Check completed work for accuracy

Qualifications

• A High School degree or equivalent is a must. A college degree or relevant certification is a plus.
• Proven data entry work experience, as a Data Entry Operator or Office Clerk
• Experience with MS Office and data programs
• Familiarity with administrative duties
• Experience using office equipment, like fax machine and scanner
• Typing speed and accuracy
• Excellent knowledge of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
