Pay: $45-$50/hr (DOE) + Bonus Opportunity
$4,000 Sign-On Bonus for External Candidates
($2,000 after 60 days + $2,000 after 180 days)

A leading home health respiratory organization is seeking a Ventilator Patient Specialist to support a dedicated caseload of ALS and/or pediatric patients across the Southborough region, with additional needs in the Western MA territories including Plainfield, Royalston, Rutland, and Agawam.

Position Overview


The Ventilator Patient Specialist serves as the primary clinical resource for ventilator-dependent patients, their caregivers, and all involved partners. You will perform assessments, manage ventilator care, set up advanced respiratory equipment, and provide ongoing education and support.

This role includes on-call responsibilities one week per month for phone-based consultation during non-business hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for ventilator patients within a defined territory
• Perform patient assessments and develop care recommendations
• Educate patients and caregivers on ventilator use and respiratory equipment
• Set up and troubleshoot highly technical respiratory devices
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation per company standards
• Participate in training and orientation of team members when requested
• Maintain licensure, certifications, and required continuing education
• Ensure workspace, equipment, and records meet safety and compliance standards
• Provide after-hours phone consultation during on-call weeks
• Support care coordination in collaboration with clinical leadership

Qualifications

Required

• RN, RRT, or CRT credential
• Active state license in MA (additional state licensure may be required based on territory)
• Pediatric and/or ALS ventilator experience (required)
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Proficiency with ventilator download software (e.g., Care Orchestrator, Astral)

Preferred

• Respiratory care degree/program completion
• Home respiratory care experience or equivalent hospital experience
• Familiarity with Durable Medical Equipment (DME/HME)

Technical & Physical Requirements

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and tablet-based documentation
• Ability to lift and transport patient equipment as needed
• Direct patient contact with potential exposure to pathogens
• Must comply with N95 mask fit testing and OSHA respiratory protection standards (clean-shaven where required)
• Requires walking, standing, sitting, talking, listening, and close visual focus

Compensation & Incentives

• $45-$50/hr depending on experience
