Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Saw Operator to set up and operate industrial saws to cut steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to specified dimensions. The ideal candidate can accurately measure materials, follow work instructions, and maintain quality and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate industrial saws, including band saws and cold saws.
* Read work orders, cut lists, and basic blueprints to determine cutting requirements.
* Measure materials using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools.
* Load, unload, inspect, label, and stage materials for production.
* Perform routine equipment checks, blade changes, and basic maintenance.
* Follow safety procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean work area.
Required Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED.
* 1-3 years of experience operating industrial saws or similar manufacturing equipment.
* Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic math.
* Ability to follow work instructions, work orders, and basic blueprints.
* Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience cutting steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or other metals.
* Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing.
* Forklift and/or overhead crane operating experience.
* Familiarity with calipers and other precision measuring tools.
