Role Description
Responsible for supporting Actuarial Management.
The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role; additional duties may be assigned:
- Support and analyze activities related to the Direct Pay, Local Group and National Accounts Market Segment and all lines of business.
- Maintenance and improvement of Actuarial analyses such as trend setting, gross margin reporting, and financial forecasting.
- Rate analysis and development.
- Actuarial representation on cross-functional workgroups as an active participant.
- Forecast/variance analysis and reporting.
- Product development support.
- Segmentation support.
Qualifications
- 4+ years related work experience in an Actuarial field.
- Related Bachelor's degree required in Math/Statistics or related degree.
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
- Ability to communicate and present detailed business and financial strategic information in a clear and concise way to all levels of management.
Requirements
- Background in health field or insurance field.
- SAS, R and/or SQL experience.
- Familiarity with programming languages and PC software (spreadsheets, graphics, word processors).
- Independently managing projects and/or people.
