Managing Actuary

Role Description

Responsible for supporting Actuarial Management.

The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role; additional duties may be assigned:

• Support and analyze activities related to the Direct Pay, Local Group and National Accounts Market Segment and all lines of business.
• Maintenance and improvement of Actuarial analyses such as trend setting, gross margin reporting, and financial forecasting.
• Rate analysis and development.
• Actuarial representation on cross-functional workgroups as an active participant.
• Forecast/variance analysis and reporting.
• Product development support.
• Segmentation support.

Qualifications

• 4+ years related work experience in an Actuarial field.
• Related Bachelor's degree required in Math/Statistics or related degree.
• Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
• Ability to communicate and present detailed business and financial strategic information in a clear and concise way to all levels of management.

Requirements

• Background in health field or insurance field.
• SAS, R and/or SQL experience.
• Familiarity with programming languages and PC software (spreadsheets, graphics, word processors).
• Independently managing projects and/or people.
