Flying Horse Capital | Ownership Track THE OPPORTUNITY Flying Horse Capital has acquired a residential HVAC services company in the Fort Lauderdale market—a founder-owned and operated business with more than 20 years of history and approximately $6M in annual revenue. We are looking for the next CEO to lead the business through its next chapter. If you came up through the trade, have been running somebody else's shop, and have wondered when you would get the opportunity to build something of your own, this is that seat. Real equity. Real authority. And an owner behind you who is not operating on a five-year clock. We are a Dallas-based permanent capital firm that acquires lower-middle-market family- and founder-owned businesses. We are not a private equity fund. No fund life. No five-year clock. No forced exit. We buy good businesses and hold them. THE ROLE You run the company—the P&L, the team, the customers, and the outcome. This is a $6M business, not a corporate platform. There is no large corporate infrastructure behind you. You will be close to the technicians, the customers, and the numbers every day. You will own: Field operations — dispatch, scheduling, service delivery, installation crews, fleet, inventory, permitting, and safety The crew — technician recruiting, retention, development, and accountability. At this size, losing two good technicians is a material event, particularly in a highly competitive labor market Customers — service standards, callback rates, online reputation, customer retention, and maintenance-agreement growth Unit economics — gross margin by service line, labor utilization, average ticket, close rates, and overall profitability Growth — strengthening the core business and expanding market share across Broward and adjacent counties Culture — maintaining what made the business successful while building the accountability, processes, and team required for its next stage of growth YOU WILL NOT BE DOING THIS ALONE A structured 90-day handoff from the founder—accounts, vendors, referral sources, customer relationships, and the institutional knowledge that lives in no system A fractional CFO provided by Flying Horse Capital to own reporting, cash management, budgeting, and lender relationships. You own the P&L; you will not be in QuickBooks at midnight A Sales Director we will fund and recruit once the business is stabilized, reporting directly to you Support navigating the licensing and qualifying-agent transition, including applicable examination or licensing requirements Direct access to ownership. One phone call. Fast decisions. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR You started in the field as a hands-on HVAC technician. You have run diagnostics, pulled a compressor, and had the hard conversation with a homeowner in August You have since led—as a service manager, operations manager, GM, or branch manager—in a multi-truck residential HVAC environment You have carried accountability for roughly $3M+ in revenue and 10+ field personnel. You do not need to have run a large platform. You need to have run something real, and run it well You understand the economics of a residential service business and know how technician productivity, pricing, close rates, callbacks, and customer retention ultimately flow through the P&L You want ownership, not a bigger title You are relentlessly hands-on. At this size, that is not a preference—it is the job Strongly preferred: An active Florida CAC license or candidates positioned to meet applicable Florida licensing requirements. Also valued: maintenance-program growth experience, South Florida or Gulf Coast market experience, and bilingual English/Spanish capabilities. If you hold an applicable Florida license, lead with it.
