Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate must have strong Java and Python expertise while driving data pipeline development, system architecture, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable production-grade solutions.

Rate Range: $60/Hour to $65/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based data platforms and transformation pipelines using Java and Python.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical, high-quality technical solutions.
• Build and optimize data processing systems leveraging GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataproc, and Cloud Run.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code (Terraform) to ensure reliable deployments.
• Apply observability practices including logging, monitoring, and alerting to maintain production system health.
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring team members, driving best practices, and contributing to architectural decisions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's preferred).
• 6+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on cloud-based data platforms or data-intensive systems.
• Strong hands-on experience in Java and Python with proven ability to design, build, and deploy scalable production-grade solutions.
• Experience building and operating cloud-based data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with knowledge of tools such as BigQuery, Dataproc, and CI/CD practices.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $65.00 per hour
