Vice President, Global Supply Chain
Position Overview
We are looking for a strategic, enterprise-minded leader to lead Ingevity's global supply chain organization. This role is responsible for ensuring our supply chain enables business growth, supports manufacturing excellence, and delivers exceptional service to customers while balancing cost, inventory, working capital, compliance, and risk objectives.
The Vice President, Global Supply Chain will provide enterprise leadership across global procurement, strategic sourcing, integrated business planning, logistics, transportation, customer fulfillment, inventory management, global trade compliance, and related supply chain functions. This leader will be accountable for developing and executing procurement and sourcing strategies that ensure supply continuity, enable growth, optimize cost structures, and create competitive advantage across the enterprise.
This leader will work closely with Commercial, Manufacturing, Finance, Technology, and business leaders to ensure demand, supply, sourcing, and operational priorities remain aligned across the enterprise.
This role requires someone who can operate effectively at both the strategic and operational levels. Success will require the ability to connect long-term business objectives with day-to-day execution, make decisions in complex and dynamic environments, build organizational capability, and drive continuous improvement across a global manufacturing network.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who can balance service, cost, quality, compliance, and risk while creating a culture of accountability, performance, innovation, and customer focus. This individual will serve as a key member of the operations leadership team, helping shape enterprise strategy while ensuring the supply chain organization delivers results today and is prepared for tomorrow's challenges.
How You'll Impact Ingevity
Shape and execute the enterprise supply chain and procurement strategy
- Develop and execute a global supply chain and procurement strategy that supports business growth, operational excellence, and customer success.
- Align supply chain capabilities with evolving business priorities, market demands, and long-term strategic objectives.
- Anticipate risks, constraints, and opportunities across the supply chain and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
- Drive strategic initiatives that improve resilience, agility, sustainability, and overall supply chain performance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on supply chain performance, capabilities, investments, and strategic priorities.
Lead integrated planning and business alignment
- Own the processes that connect customer demand, manufacturing capacity, inventory strategy, and supply availability.
- Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure alignment across Commercial, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
- Establish clear performance measures and accountability around forecasting, inventory management, service performance, and working capital.
- Help the organization make informed trade-off decisions that balance customer commitments, operational realities, and financial objectives.
- Create visibility into supply chain performance and drive actions that improve reliability, responsiveness, and business outcomes.
Build a strategic sourcing and procurement advantage
- Lead the company's global procurement and sourcing strategy to ensure reliable supply, competitive cost structures, and effective risk management across direct and indirect spend categories.
- Provide strategic leadership and governance for Ingevity's global procurement organization, ensuring sourcing, supplier management, contracting, and category strategies are aligned with business objectives and enterprise priorities.
- Develop strong partnerships with key suppliers while creating sourcing strategies that support growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Drive supplier performance through disciplined management of quality, service, delivery, innovation, and cost expectations.
- Identify opportunities to leverage enterprise purchasing scale, optimize contracts, and reduce total cost of ownership.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Technology, and Commercial leaders to ensure sourcing decisions support business performance and customer commitments.
- Anticipate and mitigate supply market risks, including raw material availability, geopolitical concerns, inflationary pressures, supplier concentration, and other business continuity risks.
- Partner with Legal and other key stakeholders to ensure effective global trade compliance practices that support compliant, efficient, and reliable international operations.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Logistics, Procurement, and business leaders to identify and mitigate trade-related risks while supporting efficient and compliant global operations.
- Champion sustainable, responsible, and compliant sourcing practices that support business objectives and customer expectations.
Deliver world-class service and operational performance
- Lead logistics, transportation, warehousing, customer fulfillment, inventory management, distribution, and trade compliance activities across the enterprise.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, inventory optimization, productivity, compliance, and cost management.
- Ensure supply chain processes are scalable, efficient, and capable of supporting future business growth.
- Champion the use of data, analytics, technology, and digital capabilities to improve decision‑making and operational effectiveness.
- Foster a culture focused on safety, reliability, responsiveness, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
Build a high‑performing supply chain organization
- Develop strong leaders and succession pipelines across the supply chain organization.
- Create an environment that encourages accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Establish clear expectations and empower teams to make decisions and solve problems effectively.
- Attract, develop, and retain top talent capable of supporting long‑term business needs.
- Lead organizational change efforts that enhance performance, strengthen capability, and improve business outcomes.
Partner across the business to create value
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Commercial, Finance, Technology, and other functional leaders to drive enterprise results.
- Support major business initiatives, including acquisitions, expansions, product launches, and transformation efforts.
- Build strong cross‑functional relationships and serve as a trusted partner to business leaders.
- Ensure supply chain considerations are integrated into strategic planning and business decision‑making.
- Help the organization balance customer requirements, operational constraints, risk considerations, and financial objectives while delivering sustainable growth.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Experience
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, operations, global trade compliance, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated success leading complex, multi‑site, global supply chain and procurement organizations.
- Significant executive leadership experience overseeing global procurement and strategic sourcing organizations, including direct and indirect spend management, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, category management, and supply risk mitigation programs.
- Experience overseeing global import/export operations, customs compliance, international trade regulations, and trade risk management programs.
- Proven experience developing and executing enterprise supply chain strategies that improve customer service, operational performance, and financial results.
- Track record of leading integrated planning, inventory optimization, logistics, procurement, and supply chain transformation initiatives.
- Experience influencing executive stakeholders and leading through significant organizational change.
- Demonstrated success building and developing high‑performing leadership teams.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Finance, or a related discipline required.
- MBA or other advanced business or technical degree preferred.
Other Requirements
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Ability to lead across global teams, functions, and operating locations.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
