City/State Harrisonburg, VA Work Shift Multiple shifts available Overview Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery in Harrisonburg, VA! Preferred applicants will have experience specifically in Labor and Delivery and will cross train into postpartum. Schedules available Full-Time Rotating: Three 12-hour shifts per week with weekend rotation on Saturday and Sunday. Call Requirement Self Scheduled call is 32-40 hours per 6-week schedule. Must be within 30 minutes of the facility for call requirements. Sign on bonus Sign on bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates. About the LDRP Sentara RMH Medical Centers Family Birthplace includes 10 private bed L&D, and a 20 bed post-partum mother/baby. Our Level 2 newborn specialty care nursery has a 1 to 1 ratio while our intermediate care babies have a 1 to 3 nursing ratio. Our LDRP unit also offers post operative care for complex GYN and Breast surgical needs. This specialty area has a 100-member team cross trained to offer best in class healthcare to Harrisonburg, VA, and surrounding areas. The schedule is primarily 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holiday requirements. Transition to Practice/ Nurse Residency Program The Women's Health Transition to Practice program will focus on the transition experience with support and skill acquisition for practice in Labor and Delivery (L&D) (14 weeks training), Labor-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum (LDRP) (16 weeks training), Antepartum (12 weeks training), Mother/Baby (12 weeks), or Nursery (12 weeks). Program includes Formal delivery of fundamental Women's Health nursing concepts and standards via Perinatal Orientation and Education Program (POEP) modules blended with in-person sessions utilizing case studies, gaming, simulation, and skills labs Exposure to Sentara policies and evidence-based practice guidelines as recommended by the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses Hands-on experience in Women's Health alongside a trained nurse preceptor or Mentor within department. Opportunity to share experiences and network with peers in a safe, protected environment Series of virtual professional development sessions with mentoring (optional for experienced nurses) Education Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing BSN or MSN Preferred Certification/Licensure Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. BLS within 90 days of hire Registered nursing license required EFM- Electronic Fetal monitoring preferred Certified Obstetrics Nursing preferred Experience 2 years of acute care registered nurse experience in Women's health preferred 1 year of acute care registered nursing experience highly preferred Labor and Delivery specific Experience preferred Strong understanding of patient safety protocols. We're excited to share our starting pay rate for new graduate registered nurses with less than 1 year of experience is $36.00/hour. We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
