We are looking for a high-energy, hands-on individual that has the ability to mentor and nurture a team of Revenue Managers and Sr. Revenue Analysts. We are a rapid growing company with continuous product innovation and expansion, and revenue complexity, looking for individuals to drive best practices, efficiency, and have a desire to learn and grow with us.The Senior Director of Revenue Accounting will be a key part of Supermicro technical revenue accounting role, acts a technical subject matter expert on ASC 606 and interfaces with the revenue team and other finance organization, legal, operations and external auditors, will own the technical accounting guidance and application within revenue transactions worldwide.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:About the Role:Serve as one of the Company’s senior subject matter expert on ASC606 and US GAAP revenue recognition, and partnering closely with executive and cross-functional stakeholders to guide business decisions, and in structuring complex commercial arrangements, and strengthen the overall Quote-to Cash ecosystem.Manage, mentor and continue to develop a team of revenue accounting and revenue recognition professionals including multiple managers and analysts, driving process excellence, systems improvement, and strong controllership across the revenue cycle.What You will do:Lead, mentor and scale a high performing Technical and Operational Revenue Organization, including mangers, and individual contributors, with a strong focus on talent development, succession planning, and organizational design.Own the Company’s most complex revenue recognition mattes as one of the senior subject matter expert, and manage all aspects of revenue cycle to ensure accurate revenue recognition under ASC606, including updating the revenue recognition policies manuals and procedures.Ability to communicate highly technical perspectives to individuals with varying degrees of experience in the subject matter ranging from sales personnel and certain other customer-facing individuals, other finance personnel, and managementReview customer contracts for rev rec implications and work with Sales on structuring transaction deals. Exercise judgment within defined policies and authoritative literature to determine appropriate action related to revenue-related transactionsPrepare technical position paper and provides guidance to non-finance organizations based on new accounting guidelines.Manage the monthly revenue close process including timely completion of all close analysis and reviewsEstablish and maintain robust policies, controls and governance frameworks that ensure accurate, timely and compliant revenue reporting.Oversee the preparation and review of revenue-related policy disclosures, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.Work actively with external and internal auditors to ensure that company revenue recognition interpretation and internal revenue guidance are consistent and compliant with GAAP and all revenue related technical pronouncementsResponsible for driving integration alignment between revenue related areas including enhancing accounting based key revenue controls, operational improvements, including providing important analytics to help drive strategic decisions, and possible system enhancement and automations.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, and Licensed CPA.15-18 years of progressive revenue recognition and accounting experience – requires a mix of Big 4 accounting firm experience (preferably at the Sr. Manager level) and public companies with multiple, complex revenue streams in a high-growth environment; multi-national industry experience.Deep expertise in ASC606 and current accounting guidance related to hardware, software, services revenue recognition with strong application knowledge of ASC 606Ability to conduct technical accounting research and document findingsExcellent verbal, written, and listening skills as well as ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate, guide and interact professionally with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the organization to drive sound business decisionsAbility to effectively present information with confidence and accuracy to various levels of internal management and external auditorsStrong judgement and decision making skillsStrong multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt to changeExceptional organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to lead through complexity, management multiple high-priority initiatives, and meet strict deadlines.Experience in managing team members to achieve results, and ability to train and develop employeesStrong knowledge of SOX requirements, including the ability to assess, develop and implement internal controlsExperience with larger ERP systems (SAP), RevPro and related data across a global businessStrong proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPointSalary Range$232,000 - $260,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
