Plasma Center Nurse - LPN

Job Description Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting operations in a plasma donation center. Reports to the Plasma Center Manager. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions, following SOPs for medical emergencies and assisting with Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine additional evaluation by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator, when authorized by EHS, to support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state of assignment as an LPN or LVN. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for a BioLife Medical Support Specialist. The actual salary may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements.
