A small Cleveland-based company is hiring an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day accounting operations and assist the Controller with financial processes. This role is a strong fit for someone detail-oriented and self-motivated who wants hands-on experience across accounts payable, billing, and general accounting support.

Schedule

Full time, onsite in Cleveland, OH.

Compensation

$70,000 to $85,000 annually.

What You'll Do

This role researches, codes, and enters vendor invoices into the accounting system, and responds to vendor inquiries regarding payments. The clerk enters payables, investigates and resolves internal and external billing issues, and processes payments to vendors and employees. Additional responsibilities include entering financial adjustments, tracking and managing expenses, preparing and issuing client invoices, and recording and monitoring cash receipts, deposits, and bank balances. The role also reconciles corporate credit card accounts, prepares and processes 1099 forms, and provides general administrative support including answering phones. The clerk works closely with and assists the Controller on various accounting and financial tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree
• Experience in accounting, billing, or accounts receivable
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
• Strong organizational skills and self-motivation
• Strong customer service mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NetSuite
• Prior experience preparing 1099 forms
• Experience supporting a Controller or senior accounting leader in a small company environment

Compensation and Benefits

• $70,000 to $85,000 annually
