Software Engineer (Agentic Systems)

Healx seeks an AI Engineer to design and build large language model-based agentic workflows for drug discovery. Working with scientists and technical teams, the role involves developing agents that reason over proprietary data and scientific literature to generate therapeutic hypotheses for rare diseases.

Responsibilities

Design and build agents that reason over knowledge graphs, scientific literature, and proprietary methods
Work with scientists to understand drug discovery challenges and refine agent behavior accordingly
Generate, triage, and rationalize therapeutic hypotheses for rare diseases using agentic workflows
Adapt agentic infrastructure and workflows as the AI landscape evolves
Take ownership of specific workflows and mentor other team members

Requirements

Experience building or deploying LLM-based agentic systems
Proficiency in Python and familiarity with agentic frameworks
Strong software engineering fundamentals and system design skills
Ability to collaborate with domain scientists and translate research questions into technical solutions
Understanding of machine learning concepts and retrieval-augmented generation approaches
