Human Resources DirectorReports to: President | CEODepartment: Human ResourcesPosition Category: Exempt, Full-time, PermanentPosition Summary: The HR Director is responsible for the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering compensation, benefits, and leaves, updating and/or revising company handbooks, management of worker's compensation claims and unemployment claims, HR Compliance Reporting (i,e., ACA Reporting, New Hire Reporting, Terminations, etc.), and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Director will be responsible, reliable, and willing to regularly contribute to making TCA+A a better place to work.Essential Job Functions:Develop, implement, support, and review HR strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business strategyProvide training and oversight on policies and proceduresManagement of the overall talent acquisition process, which includes generating and/or updating job descriptions, posting job advertisements, recruiting (open requisitions and ongoing substitutes recruitment), interviewing, hiring of qualified applicants and onboarding new hires and substitutesStrategic development skills to develop and evaluate current onboarding plansReviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments; May include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure and teaching certificationsParticipate in the performance evaluation processesProvide support and guidance to management and senior leaders on employee disciplinary actions and/or grievance issues; May also be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminationsUpkeep of employee records, organizational charts, annual teaching contracts, intent to return forms, etc.Maintains understanding and compliance with school policies, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practicesMaintains knowledge of trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment lawPrepare and review compensation and benefits packagesAnalyze pay scale to ensure compliance with wage and labor lawsProcess employees' queries and respond in a timely mannerWork with employees and management to resolve issues, identify root cause and recommend and/or implement solutionsMentor and advice manager and other senior leaders on policy, procedures, attendance, dispute resolution, work performance and other employment mattersLead investigations and complaint resolutions and ensure investigations are conducted and written findings and recommendations are developed in an objective and thorough mannerManage all aspects of Workers' Compensation Insurance (claims, audit, renewals, etc.)Serve as a backup to payroll processing, employee benefits and 403(b) administrationPerform other duties as assignedEssential Job Requirements:Education – Bachelor's degree and 2+ years-work experience as an HR Director or HR Generalist preferred; BSc/MSc in Human Resources or relevant fieldExperience – Experience with Title IX compliance preferredRequired Skills and Capabilities – excellent verbal and written communication skills, high level of attention to detail, ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team; ability to maintain employee confidentiality, able to work under pressure, solid understanding of labor legislation; proficient with computers and Microsoft Office ApplicationsPhysical Requirements – ability to carry 25-50 lbs.; valid driver license
