Mammographer (2600047E) Weekend/Holiday rotation required for full and part-time positions. Will consider new graduates. Tuition reimbursement after six months Free Parking A Brief Overview A Mammography Technologist performs specialized X-ray examinations of the breast to assist in the diagnosis and monitoring of breast cancer, ensuring patient comfort and safety while accurately positioning the breast for optimal image quality, all under the direction of a radiologist; requiring a high level of technical expertise and patient care skills to produce high‑quality diagnostic images. What You Will Do Perform mammography testing and procedures on patients. Perform quality mammograms following prescribed techniques, with minimal radiation exposure to patient and self. Have knowledge of MQSA, required QC procedures and required patient outcomes tracking. Able to perform all applicable equipment quality control and accurately record all requested database/log records. Assist radiologists as needed. Consistently follow hospital and department policies and protocols. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (HIPAA) and facility policies. Takes responsibility for self development and supports learning environment. Provide age‑specific care to neonates through geriatrics. Consistently follow hospital and department guidelines for patient identification and safety. Adhere to ALARA, Image Gently and Image Wisely standards. Adhere to hospital mammography safety standards. Effectively follow directions to maintain compliance with State and Federal Agencies. Effectively follow directions to maintain department readiness based on DNV standards. Display a commitment to Hospital Mission and Values. Maintain licensure and continuing education requirements. Demonstrate the ability to work independently. Be proficient at instructing students and new staff members after 1 year of experience. Additional Responsibilities Use administrative skills to contribute to the successful operation of the department by entering and completing correct billing codes in the RIS and on patient billing sheets. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities. Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients, including annual training and adherence to the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures. Education Completion of an accredited 2-year program in a school of Radiologic Technology (Required). Work Experience 1+ years Registered X‑ray technologist with at least one year experience (Preferred). 1+ years Registered Mammography technologist with less than two years of experience (Required). 1+ years Proficient at instructing students and new staff after one year experience (Required). Less than 1 year clear knowledge of modality‑specific equipment computers, PACS, EMR and RIS (Required). Less than 1 year must demonstrate ability to work independently (Required).Less than 1 year ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise (Required). Less than 1 year clear knowledge of imaging and exam protocols (Required). Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of X‑Ray unit, computers, wheel chairs, O2 tanks, immobilization devices, PACS and radiology information system (Required proficiency). Ability to operate mammography equipment (Required proficiency). Knowledge of QC and MQSA standards (Required proficiency). Licenses and Certifications Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT‑R) (Required On Hire). Current State of Ohio License (Required On Hire). Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required On Hire). Registered Technologist Mammography (ARRT‑M) (Required within 1 year).
