Underwriting Specialist, Commercial Surety

Job Description Ascot Surety & Casualty Company is a US Treasury‑listed surety carrier boasting a Financial Strength Rating of A from A.M. Best. The Underwriting Specialist, Commercial Surety will support underwriting and marketing strategy in an assigned region. The successful candidate will manage regional production targets, disciplined underwriting, and the development of productive distribution partner relationships. Responsibilities Contribute to production, disciplined regional underwriting, and distribution strategy. Approve, decline, and price risks within authority limits. Assist with the development and execution of segment strategies to meet budgeted results. Maintain accurate underwriting information and ensure adherence to documentation standards. Develop and leverage productive distribution partner relationships. Support the development of Associate Underwriters. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years’ experience underwriting, analyzing, and servicing complex commercial surety accounts. Proven track record of establishing and developing distribution partner relationships. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and efficiently. Consistently embraces and promotes a culture of collaboration and can effectively manage change. Demonstrates strong work ethic, solid business judgment, and passion for providing outstanding solutions to business partners. Compensation Base pay range: $150,000 - $170,000 annually. Potential additional rewards: annual cash bonus and discretionary compensation.
