Electromechanical Assembly Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electromechanical Assembly Technician in Maple Grove, Minnesota for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support pilot and pre-production manufacturing lines by performing precision electro-mechanical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and production support on electronic products and related support equipment.

Required Skills

• 2-year technical degree, or at least 2 years of technician experience performing related work in a production or prototype environment.
• Experience performing electronic and/or mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings and sketches.
• Experience following written and verbal manufacturing instructions.
• Proficient use of electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, meters, and similar equipment.
• Experience using electrical assembly tools and common hand tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Precision and fine-motor skills for micro- and nano-scale fabrication, assembly, and testing.
• J-STD-001 experience or working knowledge of J-STD-001 requirements.
• Ability to conduct electronic testing and accurately record test data.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain a safe manufacturing environment and follow established safety procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to work additional hours and weekends when required.
• Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Preferred Skills

• 2-year technical degree plus 2 years of related technician experience.
• Experience troubleshooting electronic and electromechanical systems.
• Experience identifying and resolving assembly issues.
• Cirris or other Automated Test Equipment experience.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 experience or knowledge.
• Strong J-STD-001 manufacturing and quality knowledge.
• Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to provide technical feedback supporting design, fabrication, test, and process improvements.

What You'll Do

• Perform electro-mechanical assembly of electronic products and support equipment.
• Complete repetitive and non-repetitive assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
• Build and test prototype and pre-production hardware.
• Work from engineering drawings, sketches, and manufacturing instructions.
• Use electronic test equipment to perform functional testing and collect test data.
• Support troubleshooting of electronic and electromechanical assemblies.
• Assist with the transition of products into production.
• Identify and support continuous-improvement opportunities.
• Provide feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams regarding assembly, fabrication, and test issues.
• Maintain high workmanship standards and support near-zero-defect manufacturing.
• Follow applicable safety, quality, and manufacturing requirements.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Full-time onsite in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
• 9/80 work schedule.
• Overtime may be required, including weekends as needed.
• No travel required.

Pay

• $31.61 per hour.
