Job Title

Registered Nurse – ICU (Oncology/MICU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Weekends as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an oncology ICU/MICU setting with a focus on thoracic surgeries, skin flaps, chest tube management, and esophagectomies
• Administer chemotherapy and manage complex multi-system patients including those requiring ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, and vasoactive drip titration
• Utilize Tablo dialysis system for applicable patients; perform CVVHD/CRRT as needed
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, and ports; administer blood products and emergency medications
• Document using Epic and communicate via SBAR methodology; utilize Pyxis medication system
• Float within areas of competency to MICU (ratio 1:4) as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license in hand at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted)
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Trauma Level II facility experience required
• Required certifications (must be in hand, no pending): ACLS , BLS (AHA only – HeartCode not accepted) , Chemotherapy (CHEMO) Certification
• Required clinical skills: Dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multi-system organ failure, chronic/acute renal failure, CVVHD/CRRT, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, IV insertion, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, chemotherapy administration, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, ventilated patient care, HFNC, ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning, ventilator management, infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, and surgical wound/drain/wound vac management
• Epic charting experience required
• Flu vaccine or signed flu declination form required during flu season (October–March)
• Candidates who are within a 75-mile radius of the facility are considered local and are accepted at the local rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale, OCN, TNCC
• Experience in a teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and/or Trauma Level I facility
• Preferred clinical skills: Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, 12-lead EKG acquisition, CABG, ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD), IV insulin protocols, arterial line management, continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, procedural sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, BiPAP/CPAP management
• Travel pairs welcome; first-time travelers accepted
